Newark Teen Sentenced for Role in April Robbery

A Newark teen will spend three years on community control for running over his partner in crime during an attempted robbery in April.
19-year-old Joshua Alford and 21-year-old Eric Chapman stole several cartons of cigarettes from the Humidor tobacco store on Deo Drive in April.
Alford was the getaway driver and ran over Chapman in the parking lot while he was trying to climb into the vehicle.
Alford was charged with aggravated robbery, driving under suspension and vehicular assault.
Chapman was sentenced to spend 30-days in the Licking County Justice Center earlier this month.
