A jury found a woman guilty of a tampering with evidence charge in connection with her boyfriend’s actions to bilk two elderly individuals out of approximately $122,000.

Officials say 45-year-old Darla Balka’s boyfriend, Tim Snyder, would collect checks from the victims, cash them and then hand the money over to Balka, who would then put the money in her bank account before returning it to Snyder in the form of a check.

The activity reportedly took place between 2004 and 2006.

Balka was also facing a count of money laundering, but after nearly six hours, the jury was unable to come to a decision.

She will be sentenced at a later date.
