Knox County Common Pleas Court has scheduled a September trial date for a 31-year-old man accused of setting a fire in his house.
Officials say William Garlic was indicted in March on arson charges for allegedly setting a fire with gasoline in the dining room.
Firefighters rushed to the Granville Road residence on August 24 assuming the burning house was occupied and were on a lifesaving mission.
Garlic’s wife was not home at the time of the fire and Garlic was not inside the house.
Garlic loaded all of his personal property into a car before allegedly setting the fire.
The house was a total loss.
The loss of property and its contents were estimated at $250,000.
The trial is expected to start September 23rd in Judge Otho Eyster’s courtroom.
