A gas leak led to the evacuation of three businesses in Heath’s Southgate Shopping Center Thursday morning.

The Heath Fire Department was called to Aspen Fitness at about 9 a.m., but were unable to find the source of the gas leak.

Firefighters then checked Buffalo Wild Wings, and finally found the leak nearby at Jersey Mike’s. Officials say it appeared a meter was leaking.

An employee was working inside, but apparently hadn’t noticed the smell of gas.

All three businesses were evacuated, but no one was injured. The Energy Cooperative was called to investigate the problem.
