Time is running out for Heath City Council to determine whether two issues will appear on the fall ballot regarding the city’s fire levies.

Heath City Council voted 4-2 last (Monday) night against waiving second readings on resolutions asking for a certified millage for two issues that would permanently replace the city’s fire levies.

One issue is for equipment, fire station maintenance and personnel while the other issue deals specifically with funding positions.

Councilmen Jim Watercutter and Dick Morrow voted for the issue while Dr. Ronald Krueger was not in attendance.

The issue will come again before council on August 4th.

Council has until August 21st to formally file the issues with the Licking County Board of Elections to put it on the November 4th ballot.
