Perry County is currently under a state of emergency following the severe thunderstorms that rolled through the area early Tuesday morning.

Officials say the storms that hit the county may have also involved an unconfirmed tornado, but that determination still has to be made by the National Weather Service.

ODOT District 5 says some Perry County roadways are closed due to debris, including: State Route 37 at Junction City; State Route 13 at 6 mile turn; State Route 13 at the 21 mile marker; State Route 93 at New Lexington; State Route 93 south of New Lex; State Route 668 south of Somerset at the 10 mile marker.

These roads are closed until further notice.

Plans are being made for emergency shelter, which can be set up by calling the New Lexington Police Department at 342-4020.
